Participant Terms

These terms apply to you as a participant — someone who watches vendor content on Qualvey and gives feedback. They are separate from the terms that apply to companies who sponsor campaigns.

We have written these in plain English on purpose. If something here is unclear, email legal@qualvey.com and we will explain it.

The short version

A plain summary for orientation only. The numbered sections below are the agreement.

Your name is not shared unless you say yes. The vendor sees your feedback. They see who you are only if you choose to connect.

Your private notes stay private. They are yours, visible to you and to Qualvey — never to the vendor.

You are paid for finishing, not for a particular opinion. Negative feedback is paid exactly the same.

You can stop at any point and you can ask us to delete your data.

Why Qualvey exists

If you hold a senior role, software vendors are already trying to reach you. They buy lists with your name on them, they infer what you might be shopping for from what you read elsewhere, and they call and email regardless. You were never asked.

Qualvey turns that around. You decide whether to look at something. You are paid for the time it takes. You decide whether the vendor learns who you are — and if you would rather they did not, they get your feedback without your name attached.

The trade is simple. A vendor gets an honest reaction from someone who genuinely fits, and a way to start a conversation that was agreed to rather than assumed. You get paid, you see a product you would otherwise have to sit through a sales process to reach, and you keep control of what happens next.

That is the whole model. Everything below is the detail of how it works.

1. Who we are

Qualvey, Inc. is a Delaware corporation. [STREET ADDRESS], Austin, TX [ZIP]

legal@qualvey.com

Qualvey connects verified professionals with product content from software vendors. Vendors pay us to put their content in front of the right people and to receive feedback on it. We pay you for your time.

We are telling you that plainly because it matters: the content you watch is paid vendor marketing. It is not independent research and we do not present it as neutral.

2. Who can participate

To take part you must:

  • Be 18 or older
  • Be based in the United States
  • Hold a role that qualifies for the campaign, and register with your corporate email address — personal addresses (Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook.com and similar) are not accepted
  • Verify that email address
  • Provide a LinkedIn profile that matches the identity you registered with
  • Be approved by us

Approval is not automatic and not guaranteed. We may decline an application or close an account at any time, and we do not always explain why. That is not a judgement about you — it usually reflects which vendors we are working with.

One account per person. Your account is yours alone. Do not share it, transfer it, or let someone else complete a participation using it.

3. Which campaigns you see

Not every campaign is available to every member. We decide which campaigns appear for you based on your role, your employer, and the vendor's requirements. Some campaigns will never be shown to you, and we will not tell you which or why.

You are never obliged to take part in anything. Declining a campaign has no effect on your account or on what you are offered later.

4. What a participation involves

A single campaign takes roughly 15–25 minutes and has the same shape every time:

  • Invitation — you see the vendor, the topic, the length, and the reward amount before you start anything
  • Verify — confirm your work email
  • Watch — watch the video through
  • Knowledge check — a short set of questions about what you just watched
  • Feedback survey — your honest reaction
  • Complete — choose what happens to your reward

A completed participation means all of the following: you watched the video through, you passed the knowledge check, and you submitted the feedback survey with all required questions answered.

Some survey questions have a minimum length, shown to you as you type. This is a mechanical requirement, not a judgement about what you wrote — it exists so that a vendor is receiving a real answer rather than a keystroke.

Stopping partway is fine. Nothing is owed to you and nothing is held against you.

5. The knowledge check

The knowledge check exists so that vendors are paying for genuine attention rather than a video left playing in a background tab. It is short and it is about the content you just watched.

You must pass it to receive a reward. We are stating that here, and it also appears on the invitation before you begin, so that it is never a surprise.

You can retry as many times as you like. There is no limit and no point at which you are locked out. What changes is the wait between attempts:

  • After the 1st failure — the length of the video you just watched
  • After the 2nd — 1 hour
  • After the 3rd — 2 hours
  • After the 4th and any later failure — 24 hours

The questions are re-ordered on each attempt.

If a campaign closes while you have a retry pending, you can still complete it and still be paid. We absorb that cost. You will not lose a reward because a campaign filled up while you were waiting.

6. Answering honestly

The most useful thing you can do is tell the truth.

A vendor is not paying to be flattered. They are paying to find out whether their product lands, whether their explanation makes sense, and whether someone in your position would ever buy it. A polite non-answer is worth nothing to them, and a blunt "this solves a problem I do not have" is worth a great deal.

Your reward does not depend on what you say. It does not go up for positive feedback and it does not go down for negative feedback. Nobody at Qualvey reads your survey and decides whether you have earned it.

7. Rewards

The reward amount is shown on the invitation before you begin, and it does not change partway through.

When you finish, you choose one of three things:

Earn — we send you a digital gift card, through our payments provider Tremendous, to an email address you nominate. It does not have to be your work address.

Donate — we donate the full reward amount to one of:

  • Habitat for Humanity
  • St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
  • charity: water
  • Feeding America

We make these donations quarterly as a single payment to each organisation, and we will email you to confirm the amount and the charity your reward went to.

Qualvey makes the donation, not you. That means it is not deductible by you. It also means we never pay the amount to you, so we do not treat it as income to you and we do not report it.

We are describing how we handle it, not giving you tax advice. If your own situation is unusual, ask your accountant.

If one of these organisations ceases to operate or loses its charitable status, we will substitute a comparable one.

Decline — no reward is issued and no donation is made.

Some people choose this because their employer restricts what they can accept from vendors, and some because the reason they came was the content. Either way you keep what you learned: a look at a product you would otherwise have had to sit through a sales process to see, and the knowledge of what is emerging in your market. The vendor’s fee for your participation is unchanged. We would rather tell you that than let you assume otherwise.

Timing

  • Gift cards are issued within 10 business days of your participation being confirmed. We process these weekly.
  • Donations are made quarterly, within 45 days of the end of the calendar quarter in which you participated. A donation you choose in July may not be sent until October.

If your gift card cannot be delivered — a bad email address, a bounced message — we will try to reach you at your registered address. If we cannot reach you within 90 days, the reward lapses.

Gift cards may carry their own expiry and country restrictions set by the card issuer, not by us. Redeem yours promptly.

8. What the sponsoring vendor sees

This is the part most people want to understand, so here it is in full.

A vendor only ever sees your participation in their own campaign. Nothing you do anywhere else on Qualvey reaches them.

If you tell us you are open to being contacted, the vendor receives:

  • Your name
  • Your role or title
  • Your employer
  • Your answers to the feedback survey — including whether you asked to see more of something, and how soon you would want to talk
  • A relevance score we calculate from your participation

If you tell us you are not open to being contacted, the vendor receives your role, your employer and your answers, but not your name and not your contact details.

Our [Privacy Policy] sets out the full list of what we collect during a campaign and why.

One honest caveat: at a small company, a senior title plus an employer can sometimes identify a person even without a name. If that concerns you, do not take part in that campaign.

Saying yes to contact means a salesperson may get in touch. That is the point of it.

What a vendor never sees

  • The reward amount, or that a reward exists at all
  • How the relevance score is calculated, or what it takes into account
  • Any notes you write
  • Anything you do outside their campaign — including other vendors’ campaigns and any evaluations or notes you create on your own
  • The identity of anyone you shared their video with (see section 9)

Our agreements with vendors restrict what they may do with what they receive, and require them to honour deletion requests we pass on. They may not resell it or pass it on to anyone else.

9. Sharing a video with a colleague

At the end of a campaign you can send the video to someone on your team. If you do:

  • You are not paid for it, and there is no reward attached to sharing
  • The vendor is told how many people you shared with — never who
  • The person you share with is not enrolled, contacted about participating, or added to any list

Only share with people you have a working relationship with and who would reasonably expect to hear from you.

10. Participating genuinely

Answer as yourself, in your own words, based on what you actually watched.

Do not:

  • Have someone else complete a participation for you
  • Use automated tools, scripts or generated text to complete a participation
  • Register more than one account, or use a false identity or employer
  • Take part in a campaign from a vendor you work for
  • Take part in the same campaign twice

11. When we will and will not pay

We pay for every completed participation, as defined in section 4.

The single exception is authenticity. We may decline to pay where we determine that a participation was not genuine — for example, that it was completed by someone other than you, completed using automated means, or submitted through a duplicate or false account.

Repeatedly submitting answers that do not respond to the questions asked may cost you access to Qualvey. We will warn you first. If it continues, we may close your account. Rewards you have already earned for completed participations are still paid.

How we decide. We may use automated tools to flag participations for review, but a person at Qualvey makes every decision about payment or account access. Nothing is decided by software alone.

If we decline payment or close your account, you can email legal@qualvey.com and a person will look at it again.

12. Vendor content is confidential

The videos you watch may be unreleased, pre-launch or otherwise not public.

You may share a video internally using the sharing feature in the flow, and you may of course discuss what you learned with colleagues. Do not publish the content, post it publicly, or pass it to a competitor of the vendor.

13. Your employer's rules are your responsibility

Many companies restrict what employees may accept from vendors. Some finance and procurement teams prohibit it outright.

Checking your employer’s policy is on you, not on us. We have no visibility into it.

If your employer restricts gifts, the Donate and Decline options exist precisely for this. You can take part fully, give a vendor real feedback, and never personally receive anything.

14. Taxes

Rewards may be taxable income. That is your responsibility, not ours.

We do not withhold tax. If your total rewards from Qualvey reach the IRS reporting threshold for the calendar year — $2,000 for 2026, adjusted for inflation in later years — we will ask you for a Form W-9 and issue a Form 1099-NEC. We may hold payment until we receive a completed W-9. Most participants never reach this threshold.

Rewards you direct to charity are not income to you and do not count toward it.

Donations you direct to charity are made by Qualvey and are not deductible by you.

15. Your data

Our [Privacy Policy] explains what we collect and why. In summary: we collect what you give us during registration and participation, we share the fields described in section 8 with the relevant vendor, and we do not sell your personal information.

We may also use your responses in aggregate or deidentified form. Section 16 sets out the limits on that, and section 14 of the Privacy Policy describes it in full.

Deleting your data

Email legal@qualvey.com and we will act within 45 days. We will:

  • Remove your identifying information — name, email, LinkedIn, and any free-text answers you ask us to remove
  • Keep the deidentified record that a participation happened, because we billed a vendor for it and we need it to prevent fraud
  • Keep payment records for as long as tax law requires

One thing we cannot undo. If a vendor has already received your details because you said you were open to contact, they hold that information independently. We will pass your deletion request on to them and our agreements require them to honour it — but their use of your data is governed by their privacy policy, not ours.

Closing your account does not automatically delete your data. Ask us if that is what you want.

If Qualvey is acquired. Your information may transfer with the business. A buyer takes it subject to these terms and our Privacy Policy, and we would tell you before anything you have given us became subject to a different policy.

16. Your responses

You keep ownership of what you write.

For the campaign you took part in, you give us and the sponsoring vendor a permanent, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use your responses — to read them, act on them, and analyse them. The vendor may not resell them or pass them on to anyone else.

Beyond that campaign, we may use your responses only in aggregate or deidentified form. That means two things, and section 14 of our [Privacy Policy] defines both precisely:

  • Aggregate figures calculated across many participations — how Qualvey performs, and benchmarks about a category of product in which no person, employer or vendor is identified
  • Deidentified records stripped of anything that points to you, used to improve how Qualvey works

Your notes. No vendor ever sees them — not the text, not a summary, not an extract, not with your name removed. That does not change. We may include them in aggregate figures and deidentified analysis on the same terms as your survey answers, which produces a pattern across many people rather than anything traceable to you. We would rather tell you where that line is than promise never to look.

We will not quote you by name publicly, in marketing, or in a case study without asking you first.

We do not use your responses to train AI models, and we do not licence them to anyone who does.

If that ever changes, we will ask you before you take part, as a separate and specific choice rather than a box bundled into something else. It would apply only to participations you complete after you have said yes. We will not change these terms to reach backwards for answers you have already given us, and we will not treat your continued use of Qualvey as agreement.

17. Referrals

We may from time to time offer rewards for referring other qualified members to Qualvey.

No referral programme is running today. If we launch one, the amount, the conditions and who qualifies will be stated in the offer itself, and those conditions apply alongside these terms. Referred people still have to meet section 2 and still have to be approved.

18. If Qualvey adds a marketplace

Today, you take part in campaigns we invite you to. We are building toward a marketplace where you are matched with several vendors and choose which to take part in.

When that arrives:

  • Everything above still applies to each individual participation
  • You choose which campaigns to accept; declining costs you nothing
  • You can set a standing preference — earn, donate, or turn incentives off entirely. Turning incentives off does not reduce your access to content
  • We will still decide which campaigns you are eligible to see

19. Changing these terms

We may update these terms. If we make a material change we will tell you by email and show the new version before your next participation.

Every version is numbered and dated. The version you accepted at the time of a participation is the one that governs it — a later change does not apply retroactively to something you have already completed.

That applies to your responses as much as to anything else. A change to these terms does not widen how we may use answers you have already given us. Section 16 explains what that would require.

20. Ending things

You can stop at any time. Stop participating, or ask us to close your account.

We may suspend or close your account for a breach of these terms, or if we stop offering the service. If we close your account, any reward you have already earned for a completed participation is still paid, unless section 11’s authenticity exception applies.

No guarantee of opportunities. We do not promise any particular number of campaigns, any particular reward amount, or that any campaign will be available to you.

Service provided as is. We provide Qualvey as it is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limit on our liability. To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything arising out of these terms is limited to the greater of (a) the total rewards paid to you in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

Vendors are not us. We do not control what a vendor does after receiving your details. If a vendor contacts you in a way you object to, tell us at legal@qualvey.com and tell them directly.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.

Severability. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies.

Entire agreement. These terms plus our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and Qualvey about your participation.
